The same input and release should produce the same result. Browser calculations do not call AI for fee arithmetic.
METHODOLOGY
RuleTrace Methodology: How Fee Rules Are Verified, Released & Calculated
How RuleTrace turns official sources into snapshots, reviewed evidence, versioned rule releases and deterministic calculation receipts.

VERIFICATION CHAIN
Source → Snapshot → Evidence → Rule → RuleRelease → Calculate → Receipt
- 01Source
Official marketplace fee tables, help pages or terms.
- 02Snapshot
Preserve the reviewed state of a source at a point in time.
- 03Evidence
Human-review specific rates, thresholds, fee bases and exceptions.
- 04Rule
Bind reviewed Evidence to controlled, testable deterministic rules.
- 05RuleRelease
Publish rules and evidence together under a version and as-of date.
- 06Calculate
Run deterministic arithmetic in the browser; AI does not perform fee math.
- 07Receipt
Return fee lines, Rule IDs, explicit status and source provenance.
DESIGN PRINCIPLES
Why RuleTrace does not guess a fee
Missing context, unsupported coverage or conflicts produce explicit states instead of a plausible-looking number.
Calculation and settlement CSV backtesting remain local to the browser in the current prototype.
Published rules are expected to trace back to Evidence, Snapshot and an official Source.
